Happy Happy Birthday!

Hello All,

Wow it's been such a long time since I've been able to get around to posting something new! My Best Friend gets married on Tuesday so I have been busy finishing off all her stationery and then making Jewellery for my family to match their outfits and time seems to have just zoomed along as it tends to do!!
I finally have a card to share with you though, it was another very close friends Birthday yesterday and so I made her a card and finally got round to using my new Summer Edition Distress Inks and I LOVE THEM! They're so vibrant!! I'm going to be entering this card into Diva's by Design Happy Birthday and linking up to Make It Monday. So without any further ado:

So I'm so happy with this! For the background I did a bit of good old spritz and flick, using the three summer limited edition DI, then I stamped a large stamp on the background with Picket Fence DS, although it's very faded and doesn't really show up, then I stamped round the edge with the flourish stamp using the Salty Ocean.
I decided I didn't want to use a digi stamp for my focal element, but wanted something a bit different so drawing inspiration from the word bands I set about making a plaque of sorts! I'd already cut out the large panel using my nesties and had embossed and slightly inked it up so to make the sentiment I mixed a couple of colours of Fimo together to get a shade that would match, then after it had been blended through the pasta machine several times I pushed a smaller nestie in and then stamped my sentiment in (I call her apple cause we have the same names as the Appleton sisters), and then I added some little flourish stamps around the edge to make it more interesting! Then I do the nestie off and used one of the clay blades to cut around the shape.  Once it was baked and cooled I dapped Pearl Dabber onto the whole thing and then wiped it off so it just sat in the recessed areas, and if I do say so myself - I LOVE IT!!

I added one of my paper flowers that I had made ages ago an had in my stash and made my own little pearl flourish coming out of it, as well as 3 little pearls at the top just to finish it off!!
Hope you like it - sorry it's a fairly long post!!

Thank You Teacher Card

Hello again bloggers.

I thought I'd share with you some of the cards I made for the Fair I did at the weekend! As it was at my friends school I thought it would be a good idea to make some Thank You Teacher Cards as the end of term isn't far away!

I used Sassy Studio Designs Mrs S Digi to create these cards, and did 3 in different colours.

I matted each image onto some mirri card, then embossed a piece of white card using various Cuttlebug All-In-One folders and matted this onto the same colour card and then added a coordinating ribbon down the side.  I wrote on each of the board with my Quickie Glue Pen and added glitter and of course a few little rhinestones in the corner.

12 Tags of 2012 - July Tag

Hello Bloggers,
I feel like I've been away from blog land forever I've been really busy as I had a fair at the weekend and my Best Friend's Wedding is at the end of the month which I am doing all the stationery for as well as being her Maid of Honour so have been running around with Dress Fittings and all the fun that comes with that!!
Sadly due to all that business I have no idea where June went and didn't actually get round to doing my June Tag (but shall catch up at some point cause I don't want to be a tag short) but I am up to date and ready with my July Offering for Tim's 12 Tags of 2012 which this month was playing with Alcohol Inks yay!!

So Tim's technique used a can of air to spread the alcohol inks around, but I didn't have this so instead I used the old school favourite of a straw and some puff from yours truly, and while you don't get such a big 'splat' I think it works just as well!!
I stamped the images with Jet Black Archival, and used Pappilion (not sure that's spelt right) and Shabby French.
I also don't have any of the word sticks so made my own using Polymer Clay and some stamps and quite liked how this turned out!
To finish off I stained some ribbon and added a little clay key I made ages ago!
