Combined Talents

Me and my sister are both quite creative people, however our artistic flairs have presented themselves in slightly different forms! I am very much a crafter and she is very much an artist and after years of separately doing our thing we have decided to combine forces and put our talents together!

So here is our first Card with original artwork by Lucy! I'm very pleased with how it has turned out!

This is also kind of carrying on from my previous post in the lack of Twin related (or other multiple births for that matter for all you Triplets and Quadruplets etc out there)! Thank you also to all the lovely people who have some warmly welcomed me into the world of blogging and been so encouraging about my work I am so happy and excited about the whole venture!!!

Twindividual

As I am a Twin, and very proud of that fact I make a lot of cards and presents for my Twin (naturally), however we've found that it's very hard, near impossible to find such things that are for Twins from Twins, if that makes sense! You seem to get forgotten about once you're out of nappies really and I like to celebrate the fact that I am a Twin so have started crafting in order to get this!

Here is an example of a little drawer box I made for Lucy (my Twin) using the Crafters Companion Boxer Board:
I was again using my Tim Holtz Distress Inks (I LOVE them) in Dusty Conchord an Spiced Marmalade I believe and playing with the resist stamp technique!

Hope you like

ps this is my first time linking so I hope I have done it right!!

Overwhelmed!

Aaaah I'm still finding all this blogging a bit overwhelming and the fact that I haven't ben able to make anything recently due to energy sapping virus (that is its new (un)official name) I also have nothing to share so instead I shall have to upload some back dated samples but I guess it's all new as I am all new to the world of blogging!!

In recent months I have really got into box making (I'm not really sure why) but my friend at work asked me to make her a jewellery box and this is what I came up with:

Its far from perfect, but not too shabby for a first attempt I felt! I used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Faded Jeans and Scattered Straw (I think) to ink up some Centura Snow White Pearl Paper and then stamped a pattern over the top again using Faded Jeans.  For the inside of the box I inked up the paper just using Scattered Straw Ink! And then made the flower using Centura Pearl Card and inking with Scattered Straw again and fixed it with a blue gem brad!

Anyways let me know what you think

Here we go...

I've been wanting to start a crafty blog for a while now but I've felt thoroughly intimidated and overwhelmed by the amount of talent out there and my lack of ability to actually write anything interesting. But as I have recently been struck down with a virus which has left me full of ideas wanting to craft but not actually having the energy to do it I figured now would be the perfect time to bite the bullet and just go for it and I have to say I'm very excited!!

My latest crafty creation was a 60th birthday card for my Aunt which I was actually really pleased with! I used a combination of my Cricut (which I am completely in love with I don't know what I would do without it, although I was very VERY tempted by the Expression 2 POTD on Create and Craft yesterday, but somehow managed to resist, I almost felt guilty for my current machine!), my Cuttlebug (which is my most recent purchase and I'm also completely loving embossing at the moment), and some beads as my Aunt is really into jewellery making and I'm just getting into it too so I thought I would include those in the card as well as a pretty flower I made as I LOVE making flowers!
Thats all for my first post! I am up and running hoorah!
