Hello All,
Wow it's been such a long time since I've been able to get around to posting something new! My Best Friend gets married on Tuesday so I have been busy finishing off all her stationery and then making Jewellery for my family to match their outfits and time seems to have just zoomed along as it tends to do!!
I finally have a card to share with you though, it was another very close friends Birthday yesterday and so I made her a card and finally got round to using my new Summer Edition Distress Inks and I LOVE THEM! They're so vibrant!! I'm going to be entering this card into Diva's by Design Happy Birthday and linking up to Make It Monday. So without any further ado:
So I'm so happy with this! For the background I did a bit of good old spritz and flick, using the three summer limited edition DI, then I stamped a large stamp on the background with Picket Fence DS, although it's very faded and doesn't really show up, then I stamped round the edge with the flourish stamp using the Salty Ocean.
I decided I didn't want to use a digi stamp for my focal element, but wanted something a bit different so drawing inspiration from the word bands I set about making a plaque of sorts! I'd already cut out the large panel using my nesties and had embossed and slightly inked it up so to make the sentiment I mixed a couple of colours of Fimo together to get a shade that would match, then after it had been blended through the pasta machine several times I pushed a smaller nestie in and then stamped my sentiment in (I call her apple cause we have the same names as the Appleton sisters), and then I added some little flourish stamps around the edge to make it more interesting! Then I do the nestie off and used one of the clay blades to cut around the shape. Once it was baked and cooled I dapped Pearl Dabber onto the whole thing and then wiped it off so it just sat in the recessed areas, and if I do say so myself - I LOVE IT!!
I added one of my paper flowers that I had made ages ago an had in my stash and made my own little pearl flourish coming out of it, as well as 3 little pearls at the top just to finish it off!!
Hope you like it - sorry it's a fairly long post!!
